42 <br /> Elected Official's Guide to Emergencies and Disasters <br /> Appendix E: Critical Incident Information <br /> In a disaster situation, in order to properly manage the incident, information is crucial. <br /> Emergency Services strives to gather the following information and have it available for <br /> you, the media and those 'working' the event: <br /> Location <br /> Where to report (for shelter volunteers, points of distribution, etc.) <br /> Best route/transportation <br /> Available communication <br /> Incident size-up <br /> Type of incident <br /> Magnitude of damage <br /> Best/worst case scenario <br /> When it occurred <br /> Damage <br /> Size of impact <br /> Number of injuries/deaths <br /> Infrastructure damage <br /> Property damage <br /> Other impacts (Economy, environment, etc.) <br /> Resources <br /> Who's the Incident Commander? <br /> EOC status and location <br /> Available resources (internal and external) <br /> Resources required <br /> Resources ordered <br /> Resources arrived and being tracked <br /> Other officials and leaders notified <br /> Should you be requested to the EOC, this critical information will be given to you to <br /> allow preparation for EOC activities as necessary <br /> 391 Page <br />
