It is important for BOCC members to
communicate with their elected and appointed constituents in order to share and
receive critical incident information.
• Familiarize yourself with the scope and magnitude of the event and what parts of
the community have been affected.
• Continue to pass information and status updates to the EOC, other community
officials, and brief your staff as well.
• A more thorough set of questions (for example, "When did the incident occur?" and
"How many casualties are there?") to know in a disaster situation can be found in
Appendix E.
• Be sure to share any pertinent information you obtain to the EOC (919-245-6150)
or by email to eoc@orangecountync.gov.
The Elected Official's Job may include supporting the response in a
leadership/policy-level capacity.
7I
