I was active for many years in the NC Harm Reduction <br /> Coalition, and have served as a preceptor for a UNCSPH Capstone Team supporting its <br /> activities. Professionally, I have received multiple grants to conduct research in this area, and <br /> have published a number of pertinent manuscripts (which I d be glad to specify upon request), <br /> most recently in JAMA. I am very familiar with the State s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program <br /> (PDMP), and have mined its data to support the activities of the NC State Medical Board in <br /> identifying providers with a history of excess or frequent prescriptions. I have also conducted the <br /> largest evaluation to date of community-based efforts across the State to prevent opioid <br /> overdose, working closely with Kay Sanford of Project Lazarus.
