1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: October 25, 2022 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8 <br /> SUBJECT: Opioid Advisory Committee — Appointments Discussion <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Applicant Summary Sheet Clerk's Office, 919-245-2130 <br /> Applications of Applicants <br /> Blank Membership Roster <br /> Applicant Interest List <br /> PURPOSE: To consider initial appointments to the non-designated positions on the Opioid <br /> Advisory Committee and discuss the addition of a County Manager Designee from the <br /> Department on Aging. <br /> BACKGROUND: The charge and composition of the Opioid Advisory Committee were <br /> established at the Board's September 6, 2022 Business Meeting. The Committee is charged to <br /> discuss opioid-related health concerns and issues impacting the residents of Orange County and <br /> advise the Board of Commissioners on options to expend funds to remedy opioid impacts. The <br /> Committee will also plan and host one annual meeting open to the public to receive input from <br /> municipalities on proposed uses of the settlement funds and to encourage collaboration between <br /> local governments. <br /> The Board of County Commissioners appoints seven (7) members.
