She asked him to speak more about that and what it <br /> might look like. <br /> Travis Myren said he was specifically talking about overlapping some of the community <br /> outreach efforts only. <br /> Commissioner Greene asked if there is an overlap in time between the two plans. <br /> Travis Myren said there may be, but timelines for both plans are not set in stone yet. <br /> Chair Price asked when Cy Stober plans the comprehensive plan update and how long <br /> it might take. <br /> Cy Stober said he asked staff to draft to have an internal RFP ready for review by <br /> December. <br /> Commissioner Fowler asked what years the new comprehensive plan will cover. <br /> Cy Stober said they are usually on a 25-30 year time scale. <br /> Commissioner Fowler asked if the strategic plan would guide the Board, while the <br /> comprehensive plan will focus on land use. <br /> Travis Myren said the main difference is the amount of time each plan looks at, with the <br /> strategic plan being short-term and the comprehensive plan having long-term outlooks. <br /> Chair Price said the comprehensive plan is for development and works as a guide. <br /> Commissioner Richards said she is pleased to see the opportunity to have the strategic <br /> plan inform the comprehensive plan. She asked how the strategic plan will connect to the <br /> advisory boards. <br /> Travis Myren said it would be reasonable for the Board to ask the advisory boards to <br /> help advance the goals of the plan. <br /> Commissioner Richards said advisory boards could be leveraged for community <br /> engagement as well. <br /> Travis Myren said it would be the expectation that each departmental plan and advisory <br /> board plan would inform and support the strategic plan. <br /> Commissioner Richards asked about the parks and open space plan. <br />
