Amendment Resolution Sarah Pickhardt, (919) 245-6135 <br /> 2. Amendment One - Attachment A - Christopher Sandt, (919) 245-2583 <br /> Amended Plan <br /> PURPOSE: To approve a resolution amending the 2020 Eno Haw Regional Hazard Mitigation <br /> Plan. <br /> BACKGROUND: In 2020, the Orange County Board of Commissioners formally adopted the <br /> 2020 Eno Haw Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. This plan identifies natural and man-made <br /> threats and hazards to the community and identifies solutions to lessen the impacts of these <br /> disasters. <br /> The Federal Emergency Management Agency has allocated over $2.3 billion to the Building <br /> Resilient Infrastructure in Communities (BRIC) and $800 million to the Flood Mitigation Assistance <br /> (FMA) programs. The Orange County Planning and Inspections Department and the Emergency <br /> Services Department— Emergency Management Division have identified point repairs to the Lake <br /> Orange Spillway as a potential project for these grant programs. As such, this initiative will need <br /> to be incorporated into the 2020 Eno Haw Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with amending the 2020 Eno Haw <br /> Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br /> this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, gang <br /> activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impact associated with this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve and authorize the <br /> Chair to sign the resolution approving the amendment to the 2020 Eno Haw Regional Hazard <br /> Mitigation Plan. <br />
