5 <br /> Initiate policies and programs that: 1) conserve energy; 2) reduce resource <br /> consumption; 3) increase the use of recycled and renewable resources, and 4) <br /> minimize waste stream impacts on the environment. <br /> • RESULTANT IMPACT ON NATURAL RESOURCES AND AIR QUALITY <br /> Assess and where possible mitigate adverse impacts created to the natural <br /> resources of the site and adjoining area. Minimize production of greenhouse gases. <br /> Housing Department <br /> 6. The Housing Department has received notification of $132,000 in grant funds from the <br /> North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) to be used toward the Urgent Repair <br /> Program. The required County match of$40,000 is being transferred from available funds <br /> within the same Community Development Fund. The Urgent Repair Program will assist <br /> 14 homeowners with home repairs and rehabilitation. Eligibility for the program depends <br /> on household income, with income limits set at 50% of the County's Area Median Income, <br /> as well as qualifying as a household with special needs including people age 62 and older, <br /> single parents, large families with 5 or more household members, children with lead <br /> hazards present in the home, as well as emergency cases.
