Funding will be used to support salaries for staff working the vaccine <br /> clinics. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Department on Aging <br /> 2. The Department on Aging has received a donation of $10,000 from UNC Healthcare to be <br /> used for wellness supplies in the Senior Health Coordination annual grant fund. This <br /> budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds in the Annual Grant Fund, <br /> outside of the General Fund. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 3. The Department of Social Services (DSS) has received the following revenues: <br /> • Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) — The <br /> department has received an additional allocation from the State to provide water <br /> payment assistance to low income households. The program will run from June <br /> 2022 to May 2023, and the County will receive $17,884 for direct payments and <br /> administrative support for this program. <br /> • Toy Chest — The department has received $23,710 in donations for the annual toy <br /> drive. This amendment authorizes the receipt of these donations in the DSS Client <br /> Enhancement Fund, outside of the General Fund. <br /> • Cardinal Innovations — The department has received an additional $100,180 in <br /> funding from Cardinal Innovations to support children in the custody of the County <br /> for a broad range of services. This amendment authorizes these expenditures in the <br /> DSS Client Enhancement Fund, outside of the General Fund. <br /> • SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) Technical Amendment — <br /> DSS is transferring the SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access and Recovery (SOAR) position <br /> to the Housing Department to improve coordination between that position and the <br /> other outreach programs of the Housing Department. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br />
