Deficit/Surplus In the past few years, Sisters’ Voices has been fortunate to end our <br />fiscal years with a surplus. This surplus has been in large part due to <br />the sav ings of not hav ing to pay for space. During the first part of <br />Cov id, we mov ed our ensembles completely online. The cost of <br />Zoom was v ery minimal compared to the cost of renting a physical <br />building. As we slowly came back together in person, we rehearsed <br />outside both at community parks and at Leandra’s home studio. This <br />past year, all rehearsals hav e taken place free of charge at Leandra’s <br />home studio. In addition, we hav e not had to pay as much as we <br />budgeted for an accompanist. W e hav e hired an accompanist for <br />performances, but not for most rehearsals. Leandra has <br />accompanied rehearsals on her ukulele in order to limit the number <br />of people in the space. This coming fiscal year, we will pay both for <br />space and a rehearsal accompanist.
