If not, <br />please explain any <br />barriers that have <br />prevented you from <br />receiving this <br />training. <br />Ackland staff is currently undergoing DEI training with Dr. Deborah <br />Strohman, an outside contractor, that started in the fall of 2020. Dr. <br />Stroman leads discussions about DEI practices at the Ackland and <br />identifies opportunities for growth. The Museum is also currently <br />rev iewing its Strategic Plan as part of a strategic plan “refresh” and <br />updating its DEIA goals as part of this process. Before this, in the <br />summer of 2019, sev eral staff members took part in the <br />“Foundations in Historical and Institutional Racism W orkshop,” a <br />two-day training led by trainers from the Racial Equity Institute.
