1 <br /> APPROVED 10/3/22 <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> BUSINESS MEETING <br /> September 6, 2022 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Business Meeting on Tuesday, <br /> September 6, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted Human Services Center in Hillsborough, NC. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Renee Price, Vice Chair Jamezetta Bedford, <br /> and Commissioners Amy Fowler, Sally Greene, Jean Hamilton, Earl McKee (arrived at 7:05 <br /> p.m.), and Anna Richards <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> Travis Myren, and Clerk to the Board Laura Jensen. (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> Chair Price called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All commissioners were present <br /> except Commissioner McKee. <br /> Chair Price welcomed everyone back from the summer meeting break. <br /> Chair Price invited Bonnie Hammersley and John Roberts to introduce new county <br /> employees. <br /> Bonnie Hammersley asked Cy Stober, Planning and Inspection Director, Shameka <br /> Fairbanks, Human Rights and Relations Director, Erin Sapienza, Orange County Library <br /> Director, and Nish Trivedi, Transportation Services Director to stand and introduced them to the <br /> Board. She noted that the Human Rights and Relations Department will soon be renamed the <br /> Office of Equity and Inclusion. <br /> Chair Price congratulated Erin Sapienza and Nish Trivedi for their new positions within <br /> the organization. She welcomed Cy Stober and Shameka Fairbanks to Orange County. The <br /> Board echoed her comments. <br /> John Roberts invited staff attorneys Martha Bordogna, Morgan Pierce, and Joseph <br /> Herrin to stand and introduced them to the Board. <br /> The Board welcomed the staff attorneys. <br /> 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> None. <br /> Chair Price dispensed with reading the public charge. <br /> Commissioner McKee arrived at 7:05 p.m. <br /> 2. He said he volunteers in the <br /> community and has chosen Orange County as home. He said he is very happy with Orange <br /> County. He said he is happy to return home after he has been away.
