Project Goals Through the launch of quarterly poetry & spoken word workshops <br />and programs, HAC aims to achiev e the following goals: <br />-Empower aspiring artists of all ages and backgrounds to experience <br />authentic self-expression through the art of poetry and spoken word <br />-Engage audiences that are historically underrepresented in arts <br />programs of Hillsborough and Orange County <br />-Support BIPOC artists and teaching artists through contracts to lead <br />poetry workshops and opportunities to share their work at HAC <br />ev ents <br />-Expand collaborations and artistic serv ices to communities outside <br />of Hillsborough's immediate downtown area, including rural, <br />underserv ed, and under-reached neighborhoods <br />-Introduce educational arts programming not currently offered in <br />Hillsborough, or not offered widely across Orange County/Triangle <br />-Create a road map for re-inv igorating Hillsborough's Poet Laureate <br />program, utilizing poetry & spoken word workshops as an <br />opportunity to experiment with ways to empower local poets <br />-Cultiv ate a community of emerging poets and poetry enthusiasts <br />who may funnel into Last Fridays poetry showcases and/or the <br />pipeline for the next Hillsborough Poet Laureate <br />-Explore opportunities to activ ate a Youth Poet Laureate program in <br />conjunction with the ev entual re-launch of the adult Poet Laureate <br />program <br />-Bolster collaborations and relationships in the community with <br />v enues and other cultural arts organizations who may wish to partner <br />on these efforts <br />-Host workshops on a schedule that supports HAC's goals for <br />operational and financial sustainability, keeping in mind HAC's focus <br />for aligning and condensing programs when possible <br />-Continue collaborations with community champions and local arts <br />leaders to further the impact of our mission in Hillsborough <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 186FF265-BEAA-4CC2-8D65-72C0A02D685E
