She said <br /> 12 some of the items on Option A comes from what Orange County is already doing. She said <br /> 13 Option B would work for counties that are not used to doing this work or building framework for <br /> 14 multi-county strategic planning. She said she believes staff and the board will be able to hit the <br /> 15 ground sooner with Option A. <br /> 16 Commissioner Richards said she is not aware of active programs around this issue for <br /> 17 young people. <br /> 18 Chair Price said they saw this in agenda review and that she wanted to add the schools <br /> 19 in there somewhere but that it has not been determined exactly how they will fit in. <br /> 20 Quintana Stewart said both school systems are represented on the task force now. She <br /> 21 said that it is possible to add a position for youth. She said that the Health Department tends to <br /> 22 work with the schools about smoking and vaping. <br /> 23 Commissioner Hamilton said she agrees that Option A is a good approach. She said the <br /> 24 Board needs to know who in the community is at-risk to make the most impact with the dollars. <br /> 25 She said increasing the number of residents and youth representation on the advisory <br /> 26 committee is important. <br /> 27 Quintana Stewart said in North Carolina, those most impacted are white males between <br /> 28 the ages of 25 and 34. She said they make up 72.9% of those affected by opioids. She said <br /> 29 they are not seeing deaths among the youth population, but prevention is important. <br />
