This item was previously included on the County Commissioners' 3/19102 <br /> Agenda. <br /> BACKGROUND: The terms of three members of the Orange County Planning Board, those of <br /> Crauford D. Goodwin, Rachel Preston and Maria Tadd, will expire on March 31, 2002. They <br /> each have expressed their willingness to serve another term and each have had good <br /> attendance at the meetings. <br /> The second term of Mr. Robert Strayhorn also expires on March 31, 2002, leaving an At-Large <br /> vacancy. <br /> There is also a Chapel Hill Township vacancy and another At-Large vacancy, making a total of <br /> three vacancies. Advertising has been done by the Clerk's office, and four renewals have been <br /> received but no new applications to date. In total, there are 10 applicants who have recently <br /> applied or who.have renewed their applications within the last eight months. None of them <br /> reside in the Chapel Hill Township. <br /> If Mr. Barry Katz was moved to seat number 11, which is the Chapel Hill Township vacancy, <br /> then there would be three At-Large vacancies. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): Reappoint Crauford D. Goodwin and Rachel Preston to second <br /> terms, and Maria Tadd to a first full term, all with term expiration dates of March 31, 2005. <br /> Move Barry Katz from position #1 to position #11. Appoint three pepole to fill the resulting three <br /> At-Large vacancies, as the Board desires. <br />
