ME <br />Beaufort County. The Beaufort County Board of Commissioners has seven members; all <br />are elected at- large. The election of commissioners works on a staggered basis with four elected <br />in one election cycle and three elected in the other. Both the primary and the general election <br />involve limited voting. In this system each voter votes for only one candidate. That is, in the <br />election cycle involving the election of four commissioners, each voter votes for only one <br />candidate and the top four vote getters are nominated in the primary. This process is repeated in <br />the general election. <br />Bladen County., The Bladen County Board of County Commissioners has nine members. <br />Six of the commissioners are elected from three districts, each district having two members, In <br />the election for each of the district representatives each voter is entitled to vote for one candidate.. <br />To be nominated in the primary, a candidate in each district must receive a majority. The top <br />vote getter in each district gets elected in the general election. The other three commissioners are <br />nominated and elected at- large. Each voter gets to vote for one at -large candidate.
