TASK FORCE ON THE PROCESS FOMINUTES 0 <br />R ELECTING COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />JULY 8, 1993 <br />The Task Force on the Process for Electing County Commissioners met in <br />regular session on July 8, 200 S. <br />Cameron Street, Hillsborough, North Carolina. 1993 in the Government Services Center-, <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Keith Cook and members Sharon Worthington, <br />Mulkey, Robert Ferguson, Richard Hammer, Gloria Williams <br />and Linda Carver. g Patrick <br />Rachel Lynch-Gaya, <br />STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr., and Clerk to the Board <br />Beverly A. Blythe. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:20 p.m. by Chair Keith Cook. He <br />indicated they would address both the second and third part of their charge and <br />decide on the contents of a report that will be presented to the Board of <br />County Commissioners at their regular meeting scheduled for August 4, 1993. <br />Keith Cook asked that there be no applauding and no passing <br />members of this task force govern themselves accordingly. <br />members of the task force notes and that <br />important for this task force to rule anumber seven. g ye He asked that the <br />He emphasized that it is <br />has to say. y and respect what each other <br />A motion was made by Gloria Williams, seconded by Keith Cook, to approve <br />the minutes of the June 30, 1993 meeting as corrected. <br />The task force discussed doing a telephone or a newspaper survey and Keith <br />Cook reminded the group that they have already voted. <br />Patrick Mulkey suggested that this be a recommendation to the Board of County <br />Commissioners. <br />TO WHOM IS THE SYSTEM UNFAIR? <br />Discussion ensued on why the current system of electin <br />Commissioners is inequitable.
