W hat are you <br />requesting funding <br />for? <br />A specific program or project <br />Project/Program <br />Summary <br />Our Lens, Our Voice Project is a photography and emotional <br />expression project that reframes and refocuses narrativ es of justice- <br />impacted youth. From this project came INKounter, which is in its <br />pilot phase. This INKounter Project seeks to support justice-impacted <br />youth through indiv idualized, one-on-one and small group <br />workshops that cultiv ate identity and connections through out-of-the- <br />box tools (art, music, STEM, sports, storytelling, etc.). <br />This project is led by Soteria Shepperson (I AM SOTERIA), one of the <br />collaborators in the Our Lens, Our Voice project, and will incorporate <br />other local artists based on youth's expressed interests. <br />Youth will be referred to the project by their court counselors from <br />the Criminal Justice Resource Center, judges, school officials, and <br />community members who are concerned about a young person's <br />potential for criminal inv olv ement. <br />Project Start Date <br />(no earlier than July <br />1, 2022) <br />July 1, 2022 <br />Project End Date (no <br />later than June 30, <br />2023) <br />June 30, 2023 <br />Project Goals To prov ide young people productiv e outlets for their feelings and <br />interests. <br />To prov ide meaningful mentorship relationship opportunities for <br />justice-inv olv ed youth and community artists. <br />To demonstrate the importance of art as a tool to help with <br />expressing identity, expanding a young person's interests, and <br />building community support and inv olv ement. <br />To dev elop relationships within the court system to demonstrate the <br />importance of art as a tool for rehabilitation. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 15A660EC-5B01-4664-A912-162A942EEE16
