How will you <br />evaluate whether or <br />not your goals have <br />been met? <br />Musical Empowerment measures achiev ement with qualitativ e and <br />quantitativ e outcomes based on satisfaction of participants and <br />objectiv e changes in relev ant indicators. Mentors complete progress <br />reports for their students ev ery semester. Students and their families <br />also complete surv eys that reflect their experiences for the <br />semester/year. Impact ev aluation adv isors from Duke’s Social <br />Science Research Institute prov ide coaching to help improv e ME <br />methods for collecting success metrics and analyzing long-term <br />impact. <br />Qualitativ e outcomes of progress: surv eys & testimonials <br />Our goals are not only to teach kids to play instruments, but to help <br />them and their families exercise resilience and confidence that <br />comes from learning a creativ e skill and sharing it with others (one of <br />the greatest attributes of music). Fostering growth through <br />mentorship between student and teacher also builds mutual respect, <br />which demonstrates the benefits of positiv e role-models and <br />nurturing relationships. ME parents literally hear their kids learn and <br />improv e through patience and positiv e reinforcement. <br />W e continue to innov ate and refine our use of qualitativ e measures. <br />W e document our impact on our students and teachers through <br />progress reports and surv eys to set the benchmarks that we hope to <br />meet or surpass in the coming year’s ev aluation. Recently we hav e <br />worked to track long-term outcomes from 20 years of serv ice to the <br />Chapel Hill-Carrboro community. <br />Quantitativ e measures: number of students <br />Since 2019, we hav e strategically updated our end-of-semester <br />surv eys for parents and mentors to make them easier to complete, <br />more effectiv e, and intentional. This past fall, we also called parents <br />to hav e conv ersations about how their students were doing and how <br />we could improv e the program. This information helped supplement <br />the surv ey results that were posted and shared in our Impact Report. <br />ME has experience ev aluating the impact of key funders in special <br />projects, and has frequently prepared timely impact reports for major <br />partners including: The Kenan Charitable Trust Foundation, Mary <br />Duke Biddle Foundation, the Oak Foundation, and more. <br />How do you promote <br />and publicize the <br />work of your <br />organization? <br />W e hav e a focus on growing our media contacts leading up to the <br />20th Anniv ersary Ev ent Series this summer and including <br />sponsorship information (2k printed program booklets). <br />5,000 social media followers <br />2,200 monthly newsletter subscribers <br />Utilizing $10,000 Google Ad Grant <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 8B80B543-1A48-49A2-A447-C984DE54F32B
