Project Goals In combination with NC AIA’s dev eloped teaching techniques, and in <br />alignment with NC Essential Standards, residency competency goals <br />include: <br />• Use dance v ocabulary to describe how elements of mov ement <br />communicate ideas in dance. <br />• Understand cultural, historical, and interdisciplinary connections <br />with dance. <br />• Utilize multiple perspectiv es and criteria in ev aluating dances. <br />• Identify how other arts disciplines are integrated into dance creation <br />and performance. <br />• Explain the influence of the choreographer’s v ision and intent on <br />the creativ e process in dance. <br />• Interpret dance from personal, cultural, and historical contexts. <br />An ov erarching goal of the NC AIA program is to use the arts as a <br />platform to build strong communities. In partnership with staff at <br />Rashkis and at each of our 22 schools, through high quality dance <br />education, we focus on prov iding a well-rounded educational <br />experience to all students regardless of language barriers or <br />economic status. Our school staff recognize that supporting NC AIA <br />in their schools enriches students' learning. <br />Our ev aluations found that after participation in NC AIA: <br />• 95% of students feel better about what they can accomplish at <br />school after completing the program <br />• 87% of students feel better about being in school on NC AIA days <br />• 90% report an increase in confidence; <br />• 67% of parents report that their child has a positiv e attitude toward <br />school attendance <br />• 60% of parents report that their child has an improv ed opinion of <br />him/herself <br />• 57% of parents report that their child has an increased interest in <br />school academics <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 375CB681-DA09-4299-B189-020A0CE5EBE5
