Over the past three years, the
eligibility requirements for participating in this program have become increasingly restrictive but
the required number of participants has remained the same. Despite increased outreach
efforts, the Department is unable to meet the required number of participants and is therefore
discontinuing iiie program. The Department is aiternN'Lirig to locate another community-provider
that may be willing to serve this population through its primary care practice.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The state consolidated agreement is anticipated to provide $466,848
federal and state dollars to the County to provide specific services for fiscal year 2002-2003 (a
decrease over the previous year of$30,548). The reductions were in the Families in Focus
Intensive Home Visiting Program, the Health Promotion area, and in Environmental Health.
