Housing Commission. Commission Graham, a member of both the Human Relations <br /> Commission and Affordable Housing Commission will look into ways that the two <br /> Commissions can work together on initiative. <br /> iv. There will be a joint meeting between the Orange County Board of County Commissioner <br /> and the Orange County School Board on Thursday,April 28 at 7:00 p.m.for the purpose of <br /> discussing school safety, mental health, teacher retention and recruitment, and human & <br /> community services. The Executive committee would like to make sure that there is a <br /> Human Relations Commission representative present during this meeting. <br /> 1. Commissioner Seese has volunteered to attend on the behalf of the Commission <br /> V. HRC Reappointment <br /> A. Commissioner Beecham has not responded to inquiries regarding her continuation with the Human <br /> Relations Commission. <br /> i. Commissioner Castillo will continue trying to make contact with Commissioner Beecham <br /> & Interim Director Hinton will contact the County Clerk for my guidance on how to best <br /> proceed with reappointment. <br /> VI. HRC Events&Committee Reports <br /> A. Committee Formation <br /> i. Pauli Murray Awards Committee <br /> 1. Motion made by Commissioner Castillo to form the Pauli Murray Award <br /> Committee. Second made by Commissioner Garcia-Turner. <br /> 2. Motion passed to approve the formation of the Pauli Murray Award Committee. <br /> 3. Commissioners Seese and Fath have agreed to join the Pauli Murray Award <br /> Committee. <br /> B. Committee Report <br /> i. Board Diversity Committee I Ana Garcia-Turner <br /> 1. Committee has received the completed Diversity Survey but has not yet had the <br /> opportunity to review the results. They will be prepared to report out to the <br /> Commission by next month's session and will provide the Commissioners with <br /> access to the results. <br /> ii. Communications Committee I Ellis Driver& Francis Castillo <br /> 1. Committee is exploring how to engage in a Community Conversation about <br /> learning about race in schools and Commission recruitment efforts. <br /> VI 1. Human Rights&Relations department will be collaborating with Orange County Rape Crisis <br /> Center and El Centro Hispano for the Latino Resource Festival on Saturday,April 30 at the <br /> Seymour Center. <br /> VIII.
