While obtaining a political science and business law degree from Western Carolina <br /> University I participated in intramural sports and volunteered for local political campaigns. I also <br /> spent a semester interning with the US House of Representatives. I believe this makes me an <br /> attractive candidate to serve on the Parks and Recreation Council because I know, and have <br /> experienced, how important parks and recreation is to the local community in Orange County. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> I want to serve on the Orange County Parks and Recreation Council because I want to get <br /> involved with my local community and ensure that the programs and sports leagues that I <br /> enjoyed participating in for so long remain available. <br /> Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board: <br /> I am not familiar with the current board or council members so I am not sure how my <br /> participation might deviate from the current viewpoints.
