In 1985,
Mrs. Argo retired from State of Georgia Public School Systems after more than 33 years of
instructional service. In 1986, she began an interim position at Cameron Park School in
Hillsborough, and during the next two years filled in an interim position at Efland-Cheeks
Elementary. In 1989, she began serving in a third grade class at Efland-Cheeks Elementary,
and this year moved to a remedial reading position.
Mrs. Argo's educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Piedmont College
in northeast Georgia, a Masters of Education from the University of Georgia, a 6' year Degree
of Education from the University of Georgia, and the completion of coursework toward a
Doctorate. She pursued all of these degrees while raising a family of three daughters and
actively teaching.
Mrs. Argo's other achievements include Life Certification in Education from the State of
Georgia, continuing education and rigorously maintaining her re-certification, and continuing to
teach and voluntarily tutor today's youth. (Mrs. Argo has always voluntarily tutored beyond the
classroom hours to ensure that students progressed toward their goals.) Education was such a
focus in the Argo home that her husband James joined her in the teaching profession during the
1960's and two of their three daughters also entered the profession.
Mrs. Argo and her husband live at 2715 Ode Turner Road in Hillsborough. She enjoys
spending time with her three daughters, twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
