Artist Experience I'v e been a musician and composer for the 35 years. I’v e toured <br />nationally and released records since 1995. In 2022, I'v e released 3 <br />improv isational jazz records as an upright bassist. I run a small <br />record label that has put out recordings by NC Poet Laureate Jaki <br />Shelton Green with planned releases by poets Joseph Bathanti, Metta <br />Sama, and Tenal Alston. <br />Additional Artists on the project: <br />Jaki Shelton Green - Jaki Shelton Green is the first African American <br />and third woman to be appointed as the North Carolina Poet <br />Laureate. W hen he appointed her in 2018, Gov ernor Cooper stated <br />that “Jaki Shelton Green brings a deep appreciation of our state’s <br />div erse communities to her role as an ambassador of North Carolina <br />literature. Jaki’s appointment is a wonderful new chapter in North <br />Carolina’s rich literary history.” <br />Nnenna Freelon - Nnenna Freelon is a Grammy-nominated jazz <br />v ocalist, music educator, arts adv ocate, producer, arranger and the <br />host/creator of the NPR podcast “Great Grief with Nnnenna Feelon.” <br />She has achiev ed international acclaim in both recording and liv e <br />performance <br />Ken Moshesh - Ken Moshesh is an ex- conga/percussionist with the <br />legendary Sun Ra Arkestra and ex-homeless adv ocate. Recent <br />albums feature percussiv ely musical, techniques combined with <br />other "melodic" instruments to lyrically, soulfully, spiritually compose <br />from and for,"the bottom"too. <br />Charles Chace - Charles Chace is an artist from Massachusetts liv ing <br />in North Carolina who works in the fields of painting, short films, <br />noise music, multi media installations, collage, and manipulatable <br />noise machines. He is the guitarist for Speed Stick and The Paul <br />Swest. He is the drummer for free jazz trio Tragic Assembly. <br />Crowmeat Bob - Crowmeat Bob has been playing reeds and guitar in <br />North Carolina for more than 20 years. He’s performed in hundreds of <br />improv ised collaborations, worked as a hired gun with many well- <br />known and lesser known acts (such as Syl Johnson), led, co-led, or <br />contributed compositions to many other ensembles (Sav age Knights, <br />D-Town Brass), and recently released his first LP as a leader with a <br />large string ensemble and heav y metal band, Judge Schreber’s <br />Av ian Choir (“Bleed”). <br />Thomas Jackson <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: B10D1538-0CB7-465B-BD62-7E8037CA7437
