Please describe <br />efforts by your <br />organization to <br />generate revenue. <br />Musical Empowerment (ME) raises funds through 5 main categories: <br />Grants (institutions/foundations), Indiv iduals (Major and Annual), <br />Ev ents, Sponsorships, and Chapter Affiliation Fees. Trends ov er the <br />last 5 years show that ME raises more funds through grants than by <br />indiv iduals (80% grants, 20% indiv iduals). Since 2020, we hav e <br />emphasized the importance building stronger donor relationships, <br />resulting in income sustainability (aiming to receiv e 50% of our <br />income from indiv iduals). <br />-Board Member Jaclyn Hage is a Dev elopment Director at NC State <br />Univ ersity and along with leading the fundraising committee, she also <br />prov ides coaching to the Executiv e Director. <br />-For six years in a row, Musical Empowerment's annual fundraiser <br />"Strike a Chord with ME" has raised funds for the national office and <br />the indiv idual chapters. In 2021 the fundraising goal was $10,000 and <br />we reached $22,000 (including 100% board participation). In 2022 we <br />raised $26,000. <br />-The 20th Anniv ersary Ev ent Series this summer prov ides the first in- <br />person opportunity to raise funds since before the pandemic.
