My grant request will be to fund a two part community <br />project. For the first part of the project I will design and install a <br />women’s celebration mural for W omen’s History Month in March of <br />2023. The mural will stand tall and proud in Orange County at a <br />business of the community’s choosing. I will work with community <br />leaders to determine the best fit for the mural. The mural installation <br />will begin in January or February and will be finished before March <br />1st. <br />The second part of the project will be professional photoshoots for <br />women in front of the mural. I will hold these photoshoots ev ery <br />weekend in March. The first weekend will be in partnership with <br />organizations like the Compass Center to prov ide free headshots for <br />women entering the job market. W orking with the Compass Center <br />and other organizations helping women with additional barriers that <br />are trying to enter the job market is v ery important and I would lov e <br />to prov ide this serv ice for them. Furthermore, ev en if they aren't job <br />searching but would like a professional photoshoot, I would lov e to <br />still take their photos. Helping women feel beautiful, worthy, and <br />embrace their power is my goal and I would lov e to offer this serv ice <br />free of charge for these groups. The following weekends will be open <br />to women in Orange County who would like to get either professional <br />headshots or some nice photos taken of them. This will also be open <br />to teams or groups who may want group photos. Ev eryone will sign <br />up in adv ance for their time slots. This project aims to remind women <br />in the community that our v oices matter, we hav e impact, and that <br />impact is celebrated and appreciated.
