14 <br /> Orange County Transportation Services ADA Paratransit Plan <br /> II. Public Process <br /> OCTS advertised a public meeting, 30-day public comment period, and public hearing to solicit input <br /> prior to implementing the OCTS Paratransit Plan update. A copy of the public notice is included in the <br /> appendix. The notices were be posted in all Orange County Public Transit service vehicles, at the public <br /> library, senior centers, County Hall, and on the Orange County website and social media pages. All <br /> comments and input received from the public are presented to the Orange County Board of County <br /> Commissioners (BOCC) for final approval prior to full implementation. <br /> After the development of a draft of the plan, a 30-day public comment period was opened starting <br /> Thursday, July 21, 2022, and ending Friday, August 19, 2022 for members of the public to submit <br /> comments in response to the draft. A public meeting for the draft plan was held OCTS staff Thursday, <br /> June 30, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Orange County North Campus, Bonnie B Davis EAC Building <br /> located at 1020 US-70 West, Hillsborough, NC 27278, at which a presentation of the draft plan was <br /> provided and public attendees were given an opportunity to ask questions and comment. A subsequent <br /> public hearing for the draft plan held on September 6, 2022, at 7:00pm at the Whitted Building located <br /> at 300 W.Tryon St, Hillsborough, NC 27278, at which time a presentation of the Updated ADA Paratransit <br /> Plan are provided and the public are given an opportunity to comment. <br /> Notices for the 30-day public comment period, public meeting and public hearing were published in the <br /> local paper, visibly posted on all OCTS vehicles, and posted on the OCTS website. Notices for the public <br /> comment period, public meeting and public hearing were also distributed to the following agencies <br /> having a potential interest in the plan and its implementation: <br /> • The Orange County Department of Social Services; <br /> • The Orange County Department on Aging; <br /> • The Orange County Department of Housing, Human Rights, and Community Development; <br /> • Alliance of Disability Advocates; and <br /> • Project Compassion. <br /> The public participation notice published in the local paper, on the Orange County website and within <br /> the OCTS vehicles. No public comments were received in response to the draft plan, and no significant <br /> issues with the draft plan's effect on ADA paratransit service in OCTS ADA paratransit service area were <br /> raised. <br /> III. Complimentary Paratransit Service <br /> A.
