1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: September 6, 2022 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-p <br /> SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Meeting Schedule for 2022 <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Laura Jensen, Clerk to the Board, 919- <br /> 245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider changes to the Board of Commissioners' meeting calendar for 2022. <br /> BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br /> Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change <br /> in the Meeting Schedule. <br /> It is proposed that all meetings scheduled to occur through December 2022 at the Southern <br /> Human Services Center be relocated to the Whitted Building. Southern Human Services will <br /> undergo an HVAC improvement project over the next several months, which will prevent the <br /> Board from conducting meetings at the location. <br /> The proposed amended calendar through December 2022 is as follows: <br /> September 2022 Meetings <br /> September 13 BOCC Work Session — 7:00 pm — Whitted Building <br /> September 20 BOCC Business Meeting — 7:00 pm —Whitted Building <br /> September 29 BOCC Joint Meeting with Schools—7:00 pm—Whitted Building <br /> October 2022 Meetings <br /> October 3 BOCC Business Meeting — 7:00 pm —Whitted Building <br /> October 18 BOCC Business Meeting— 7:00 pm — Whitted Building <br /> October 25 BOCC Joint Meeting with Fire Departments/ <br /> Work Session — 7:00 pm —Whitted Building <br />
