1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: September 6, 2022 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-m <br /> SUBJECT: Piedmont Electric Cooperative Easement Agreement - Blackwood Farm Park <br /> Phase II <br /> DEPARTMENT: Environment, Agriculture, Parks <br /> & Recreation <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Piedmont Electric Easement with Map Marabeth Carr, 919-245-2516 <br /> David Stancil, 919-245-2522 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve and authorize the Chair to sign an easement to Piedmont Electric <br /> Cooperative (PEC) at the site of the Blackwood Farm Park Phase II construction project, 4215 <br /> NC 86, Hillsborough, NC. <br /> BACKGROUND: In 2021, the Board approved a contract for construction for building Phase II <br /> of Blackwood Farm Park. The approval of this maintenance easement agreement is required by <br /> PEC to install electrical service to the project that is currently under construction and scheduled <br /> to open mid-fall 2022. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Approval of the easement will not create a new financial obligation to <br /> Orange County. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact associated <br /> with this easement approval. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> Impact associated with this easement approval. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the deed of <br /> easement to Piedmont Electric Cooperative for the installation and maintenance of the electrical <br /> facilities and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />
