County Manager's Report <br /> 7 Bonnie Hammersley reviewed the Board's agenda for their Board retreat on Thursday, <br /> 8 June 23, 2022 from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM at the Bonnie B. Davis Center. She said they will discuss <br /> 9 Article 46 Sales Tax Proceeds Usage and Allocations in the morning along with the Board of <br /> 10 Commissioner's goals and priorities, followed by a discussion on Board operations in the <br /> 11 afternoon. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 <br /> 14 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> 15 John Roberts said filing deadlines for the state legislature came and went a few weeks <br /> 16 ago, and they have only passed three or four bills so far, and none with local impact. He said he <br /> 17 will continue to report if there are any bills passed with local impacts over the summer. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 <br /> 20 11. *Appointments <br /> 21 Added at the beginning of the meeting <br /> 22 <br /> 23 The Board considered designating a member of the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board as <br /> 24 Chair. <br /> 25 BACKGROUND: Pursuant to G.S. 1813-700, the Board of Commissioners shall designate a <br /> 26 member of the local ABC Board to serve as Chair. The ABC Board has recommended Patrick <br /> 27 Burns be appointed as Chair. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 One of the following ABC Board members may be designated as Chair: <br /> NAME POSITION DESCRIPTION EXPIRATION <br /> DATE <br /> Patrick Burns At-Large 06/30/2024 <br /> current chair <br /> Judson Williamson At-Large 06/30/2024 <br /> Mike Zito At-Large 06/30/2023 <br /> Alice Mahood At-Large 06/30/2023 <br /> Elizabeth Carter At-Large 06/30/2025 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Commissioner Fowler said Patrick Burns was nominated as Chair, and Elizabeth Carter <br /> 32 as Vice-Chair, at the most recent ABC Board meeting.
