(All other staff members will be identified <br /> 18 appropriately below) <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Chair Price called the Board of County Commissioners meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 A roll call of the County Commissioners was called; all members were present except for <br /> 23 Commissioner Richards. Commissioner Fowler attended the meeting virtually, with the <br /> 24 remaining Commissioners attending in-person at the Whitted Meeting Room. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Chair Price welcomed everyone to the budget work session and reviewed the agenda. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 1. Discussion of FY2022-23 Operating Budget <br /> 29 • Funding Decisions on the Operating Budget Amendment List <br /> 30 • Funding Decisions on the Other Funds Budget Amendment List <br /> 31 • Funding Decisions for Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools and Orange County Schools <br /> 32 o Current Expense (Per Pupil) <br /> 33 <br /> 34 The Board reviewed, discussed and made decisions regarding the FY2022-23 Manager's <br /> 35 Recommended Orange County Annual Operating Budget and approved a Resolution of Intent <br /> 36 to Adopt the FY2022-23 Orange County Annual Operating Budget. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 BACKGROUND: The County Manager presented the FY2022-23 Recommended Budget on <br /> 39 May 3, 2022. Subsequently, the Board has conducted two public hearings to receive residents' <br /> 40 comments regarding the proposed funding plan. In addition to the public hearings, the Board <br /> 41 heard presentations and held discussions with representatives of the County fire districts, the <br /> 42 local boards of education, representatives of the community college, and County Functional <br /> 43 Leadership Teams as related to the proposed funding plan for FY2022-23. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Tonight's Agenda: Tonight's work session offers the Board an opportunity to discuss the <br /> 46 recommended budget, including discussion and review of the Budget Amendment list. As soon <br /> 47 as these discussions are completed, the Board will deliberate and make decisions regarding the <br /> 48 FY2022-23 Annual Operating Budget and approve a Resolution of Intent to Adopt the FY 2022- <br /> 49 23 Annual Operating Budget. The Board is scheduled to adopt the final FY2022-23 Annual <br /> 50 Operating Budget for Orange County at its regular meeting on June 21, 2022. <br />
