24 <br /> highway and the area has been designated for commercial- <br /> industrial development for decades. <br /> • Economic Development Objective ED-2.1 of the 2030 <br /> Comprehensive Plan: Encourage compact and higher density <br /> development in areas served by water and sewer. <br /> The amendment is consistent with this objective because the <br /> parcel is located in an area of the county served by public <br /> water and sewer systems. <br /> 2. The amendment is also consistent with the adopted Efland-Mebane Small <br /> Area Plan which called for a mix of uses in this portion of the overall <br /> planning area. <br /> c. The amendment is reasonable and in the public interest because it furthers the <br /> goals of the adopted Comprehensive Plan. <br /> The Planning Board hereby adopts this Statement of Consistency and the findings expressed <br /> herein and recommends the Board of County Commissioners consider adoption of the <br /> proposed Zoning Atlas Amendment. <br /> Adam Beeman, Chair Date <br />
