The White Cross Fire Department has requested a portion ( $ 20 , 000 ) of the district' s <br /> available , unassigned fund balance to offset unanticipated change orders and inflation - <br /> related prices increases related to its new fire engine and related equipment purchase . The <br /> BOCC approved the loan agreement for this fire engine at the September 2 , 2021 Business <br /> meeting . With this appropriation , approximately $ 25 , 731 remains in the district' s <br /> unassigned fund balance or 3 . 9 % of budgeted expenditures . This budget amendment <br /> provides for the appropriation of $ 20 , 000 from the district' s fund balance for the above <br /> stated purpose . (See Attachment 2.) <br />
