CHAPEL HILL ORANGE COUNTY VISITORS BUREAU August 12, 2020 <br />308 WEST FRANKLIN, CHAPEL HILL, NC <br />09650- Resilient Flooring-3 <br /> <br /> 6 Lay tile from center marks established with principal walls, discounting minor offsets, so that <br />tile at opposite edges of room area of equal width. Adjust as necessary to avoid use of cut <br />widths less than 1/2 tile at room perimeters. <br /> <br /> 8 Cut tile neatly around all fixtures. Broken, cracked, chipped, or deformed tiles are not <br />acceptable. <br /> <br /> 9 Lay tile with grain running in one direction or checker board. Color and pattern selection to <br />be by Architect. <br /> <br />10 Color and/or texture variation within a contiguous space will not be accepted. Care should <br />be exercised to match color and texture of tiles in each space. <br /> <br />11 Apply wall base to walls, columns, pilasters, casework and other permanent fixtures in <br />rooms or areas where base is required. Install base in lengths as long as practicable, with <br />preformed corner units, or fabricated from base materials with metered or coped inside <br />corners. Tightly bond base to substrate throughout length of each piece, with continuous <br />contact at horizontal and vertical surfaces. <br /> <br />12 On masonry surfaces, or other similar irregular substrates, fill voids along tip edge of rubber <br />wall base with manufacturer's recommended adhesive filler material. <br /> <br />13 Remove any excess adhesive or other surface blemishes, using neutral type cleaners as <br />recommended by flooring manufacturer. Protect installed flooring with heavy Kraft paper or <br />other covering. <br /> <br />14 The contractor shall be responsible for protecting the finished resilient flooring against all <br />damage from subsequent work. If damage to the finished floor should occur, the Contractor <br />is responsible for removing damaged resilient flooring and replacing it with perfect resilient <br />flooring. <br /> <br />15 After completion of project and just prior to final inspection of work, thoroughly clean floors <br />and accessories. <br /> <br />16 Provide Owner with 5% of each type and color of vinyl composition tile installed. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />END OF SECTION <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 775B89AF-3514-4D9E-B148-2FDE4EFF16C2
