Prior to installation of any wood flooring , convene pre-construction conference at the site with <br />the Interior Design professional, the Architect and the Owner to confirm the order of application <br />of wood flooring, base molding, painting and other finish operations. <br />D. See special instructions for field finishing lobby wood flooring. <br />1.7 EXTRA MATERIALS <br />A. Furnish extra materials described below, before installation begins, that match products <br />installed and that are packaged with protective covering for storage and identified with labels <br />describing contents. <br />1. Wood Flooring: Equal to 3 percent of amount installed for each type of wood flooring <br />indicated. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 FIELD-FINISHED WOOD FLOORING- LOBBY AND AS SCHEDULED. <br />A. Solid-Wood, Plank Flooring: Kiln dried to 6 to 9 percent maximum moisture content, tongue <br />and groove and end matched, and with backs channeled (kerfed) for stress relief. <br />1. Available Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, products that may be <br />incorporated into the Work include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />2. Species and Grade: to match existing. <br />3. Cut: Widths to match existing, variable lengths ranging from 2’ to 10’ with less than 10% <br />under 4’. <br />4. Thickness: 3/4 inch (19 mm). <br />5. Provide Tung Oil finish. <br /> <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br /> <br />A. Examine substrates for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances, and <br />other conditions affecting performance of flooring. <br /> <br />B. Verify substrate is clean and free of loose material, grease and other contaminates <br />which may interfere with bonding of adhesive. <br />C. Substrate Moisture Testing: Use Calcium Chloride Test or Tramex Moisture Encounter <br />Met er. . <br /> <br />E. Verify HVAC System is operating and maintaining temperature and humidity conditions <br />in compliance with Manufacturer’s Installation Instructions. <br /> <br />F. Coordinate with responsible entity to correct unsatisfactory conditions. <br /> <br />G.
