Page 7 of 9 <br /> <br />Septic Tank Abandonment: <br /> <br />• Provider shall apply for and secure an Existing System Authorization from Orange <br />County Environmental Health, which is a no-cost permit to abandon the existing <br />septic tank, prior to starting work. <br />• Contractor shall provide any traffic control or other safety measures according to the <br />most current NCDOT, OSHA or other safety requirements related to the work being <br />performed. <br />• The existing septic tank will need to be pumped by a North Carolina registered <br />septage hauler and then properly abandoned. <br />• An Orange County Environmental Health Inspector must be present when the septic <br />tank is collapsed. <br />• Restore site to pre-construction conditions, seed and straw all disturbed areas. <br />• Upon completion of both the Sewer Lateral Connection (see above) and the Septic <br />Tank Abandonment, Provider shall coordinate with the Orange County Staff Engineer <br />to schedule a final walk-through and certification of the completed work prior to <br />Orange County’s issuance of final payment to the Provider. <br /> <br />Minimum Terms and Conditions: <br /> <br />The following minimum Terms and Conditions must be met to be eligible for selection <br />consideration and contracting with Orange County: <br /> <br />• Provide a copy of license to perform plumbing activities and/or public utility work in <br />Orange County, North Carolina; <br />• Provide a copy of an occupational license to perform work in Orange County, North <br />Carolina; <br />• Must have a North Carolina registered septage hauler perform the septic tank <br />pumping work. The registered septage hauler can be a sub-contractor. <br />• Must have Master Plumber licensed/certified individual overseeing work at each <br />property while work is being performed; <br />• Must be available to meet at each private property location where proposed work is <br />to be performed prior to commencing any work; <br />• Must meet with property owner, Town and/or Orange County representatives to <br />discuss proposed work prior to commencing any work; Must agree to date and time <br />work will begin and when work will be completed; <br />• When required, must schedule and provide documentation that any inspection <br />required by Orange County, Town of Chapel Hill, and/or Town of Carrboro has been <br />completed; <br />• Must provide a minimum 12 month (1 year) warranty on workmanship of all defined <br />work performed and approved by Orange County and the Town of jurisdiction.
