The Task Force recommends budgeting <br /> project contingency at the State accepted <br /> level of 3 '/2 to 4 percent of construction <br /> Project Contingency (page 38) and site development costs. In The <br /> accordance with the County's Policy on <br /> Planning and Funding School Capital <br /> Projects, the last phase of a project is a <br /> final accounting of expenditures. <br /> Inflation Factor (page 39) Based on recent construction (only) costs <br /> the Task Force recommends an annual <br /> inflation factor of 2 1/2 percent be applied to <br /> the County's current Construction <br /> Standards. <br /> Other Considerations (page 40) The Task Force' recommends that the <br /> Board of Commissioners encourage both <br /> districts to consider the following items as <br /> they begin construction of a new facility: <br /> ■ Energy efficiency measures <br /> ■ Possibilities of joint bidding <br /> ■ Designing buildings for ease in future <br /> building additions <br /> ■ School siting and acreage <br /> 12 <br />
