In 2021, all staff received training in Mind Sciences on Difference, an implicit bias training designed to help staff minimize implicit bias, racial anxiety, and stereotype threat in the workplace. Educators have received training in INclued, a curriculum designed to reach LGBTQ+ adolescents with comprehensive sex education that addresses their unique needs. The educators have also received trauma-informed training that allows them to be more conscious of the array of experiences participants bring to the table. As a result, they can work with diverse populations and tailor the programming to fit their particular needs. PPSAT recently elevated an educator to Latinx engagement coordinator. She will work with local educators to co-facilitate Seamos Honestos, an evidence-based sexuality education program for Spanish-speaking parents. She will also conduct charlas, or community presentations requested by Spanish-speaking groups catered to their specific needs.
