RESOLUTION OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Comprehensive Plan was originally <br /> adopted in 1981 with subsequent amendments thereafter; and <br /> WHEREAS, many demographic socio-economic and environmental <br /> conditions have changed over the past two decades; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 1981 Orange County Comprehensive Plan is in need of <br /> an update to address a variety of planning and public administration challenges <br /> in this high growth area; and <br /> WHEREAS, due to the multi-faceted nature of planning issues, the <br /> formation of a Comprehensive Planning Land Use Committee of existing <br /> representatives from standing committees be formed to assist the county in <br /> reviewing growth strategies; and <br /> WHEREAS, after presentation of various growth alternatives to the <br /> Comprehensive Planning Land Use Committee public outreach to locationally <br /> based interest groups (i.e. rural areas, urban-rural transition areas, etc.) should <br /> be conducted prior to formal public hearings; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Board of County <br /> Commissioners to form the Comprehensive Planning Land Use Committee. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> Section 1 that the Comprehensive Planning Land Use Committee be formed <br /> from the Board of County Commissioners appointees of the existing boards and <br /> commissions as follows: <br /> Board of County Commissioners (2 members) <br /> Planning Board (1 member) <br /> Economic Development Commission (1 member) <br /> Board of Health and Environmental Health (1 member) <br /> Agriculture Preservation (1 member) <br /> Commission for Environment (1 member) <br /> Water Resource Committee (1 member) <br /> (see attached) <br />
