Equipment and Vehicles Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Capital Project Ordinance Durham 688-7331 <br />Attachment 4, Lands Legacy Capital Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />Project Ordinance <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget ordinance, capital project ordinance, and grant project <br />ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2003-04. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Library Services <br />The Orange County Library has received notification from the North Carolina Department of <br />Cultural Resources of additional State Aid funds totaling $2,417 for this fiscal year. These <br />additional funds bring the current budget for State Aid revenue to $119,835 for fiscal year <br />2003-04, This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds, (See Attachment <br />1, column #1), <br />Cooperative Extension <br />On December 9, 2003, the Board of County Commissioners approved the appropriation of <br />$27,000 from the Human Services Social Safety Net to the In-Home Breastfeeding Support <br />Program/Expanded Food and Nutrition Program housed in the Cooperative Extension <br />department. This program was previously funded entirely by the federal office of Food <br />Stamp Nutrition. The funding for this program was terminated as of December 31, 2003. <br />The additional funding approved by the Board would provide a time extension of two months <br />for the program and its four impacted employees. This budget amendment would release <br />$27,000 from the Human Services Social Safety Net to the Cooperative Extension <br />department for the provision of this program in January and February 2004.
