<br />099113.1 – PAINTING <br /> <br />Project Manual for Whitted Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />May 2022 <br /> <br />SECTION 099113 <br /> <br />PAINTING <br /> <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 WORK INCLUDED <br /> <br />A. Provide labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary for cleaning and painting new <br />ladders, existing clamping rings, and drain strainers and other miscellaneous metal item at locations <br />noted on the drawings. <br /> <br />1.02 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Submit manufacturer’s latest literature and specifications for products used including surface <br />preparation and installation instructions. <br /> <br />B. Submit sample(s) of paint color for Owner selection of color. <br /> <br />1.03 WARRANTY <br /> <br />A. In addition to the Contractor’s Five-Year warranty specified in Section 075400, provide the coating <br />manufacturer’s standard warranty against defects of materials and workmanship beginning with <br />date of final completion. <br /> <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Coating for Non-galvanized steel and wood: 2 coats, minimum of 2 mils dry film thickness per coat. <br />Provide primers as recommended by the manufacturer. Color to be approved by the Engineer and <br />Owner. Acceptable products and manufacturers include, Impervex Latex High Gloss Metal and Wood <br />Enamel 309 by Benjamin Moore and Co, All Surface Enamel Latex Base by Sherwin-Williams or <br />approved equal. Provide primer recommended/required by manufacturer. <br /> <br />B. Rust-Inhibitive Primer: Provide a solvent-free, moisture-tolerant product specifically formulated as <br />an anti-corrosion coating, 2 coats, 20 mils total dry film thickness minimum. Provide primer as <br />recommended by the manufacturer. Acceptable product and manufacturer include, but is not <br />limited to: Super Spec HP Alkyd Metal Primer P06, by Benjamin Moore and Co. <br /> <br />C. Interior Paint: Low odor latex paint with eggshell finish (or Owner required finish). Similar to <br />Benjamin Moore Ben Interior Paint. Use primer recommended by the manufacturer. Minimum 3 mils <br />dry film thickness total. <br /> <br />D.
