<br />076200.6 – FLASHING AND SHEET METAL <br /> <br />Project Manual for Whitted Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />May 2022 <br /> <br />G. Provide metal closures at ends of counterflashing. Miter/lap corners so that counterflashing meets <br />adjacent along the entire profile and edge/end is not split. <br /> <br />3.06 CLEAN-UP <br /> <br />A. Excess sealant, adhesives, and/or other materials must be cleaned from the sheetmetal surfaces. <br /> <br />B. All handprints, smudges and other superficial stains that were placed on the sheet metal during <br />fabrication and installation shall be removed. <br /> <br />C. All factory-applied protective plastic films shall be removed. <br /> <br />D. All abrasions, scratches, scrapes, etc. shall be touched up with paint furnished by the sheet metal <br />manufacturer. <br /> <br />E. Remove all trimmings, fasteners, and debris and dispose daily. Trimmings and sharp pieces shall <br />not be allowed to accumulate on the roof. <br /> <br />3.07 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br /> <br />A. The Contractor is responsible for initiating and maintaining daily execution of a quality control <br />program that will include, but is not limited to supervision by the job foreman or supervisor during <br />substrate preparation, installation of sheet metal components, avoidance of oil canning and <br />irregularities in the metal finish, proper metal termination and securement. <br /> <br />B. Do not install or force fit metal flashing components that do not fit properly due to errors during <br />field measurement and fabrication. Oil canning of sheetmetal surfaces due to fabrication and/or <br />installation may be considered cause for rejection. <br /> <br />C. Correct defects and irregularities observed by Engineer or Owner’s representative. <br /> <br />D. Contractor shall plan sequence of work to prevent damages to the sheetmetal installations. Protect <br />pre-finished flashings from exposure to mortar, concrete, and other cementitious materials. <br /> <br />3.08 JOB AND WEATHER CONDITIONS <br /> <br />A. Suspend all application and installation activities during inclement weather. <br /> <br />B. Protect adjacent building surfaces against damage. <br /> <br />C. Remove debris from roof and site on a daily basis and dispose at an approved disposal site. <br /> <br />D.
