Blown Fiberglass Insulation: Shall meet the requirements of ASTM C 764 – Mineral Fiber Loose- <br />Fill Thermal Insulation. <br /> <br />J. Vent Pipe and Drain Line Extensions: Shall be schedule 40 PVC connected to the existing vents with <br />rubber connectors and stainless steel clamps. <br /> <br />K. Stainless steel clamp (at penetrations): Provide a min. 1/2" wide stainless steel plumbing clamp. <br /> <br />L. Provide other roof system accessories not specifically listed, but required for the proper and <br />complete installation of the roof system. <br /> <br />M. Foam at Drain: Shall be similar to Great Stuff as manufactured by Dow. <br /> <br />N. Drain Extensions: Shall be an extension kit provided by the drain manufacturer. <br /> <br />O. Drain Clamping Rings and Strainers: Shall be cast iron and match existing manufacturer size and <br />profile. <br /> <br />P. Passive Vents (Bid Alternate 1): Replace with new copper passive vent with the profile to match <br />existing. <br /> <br />Q. Chimney Caps (Bid Alternate 2): Replace with new copper chimney caps with the profile to <br />match existing. <br /> <br />R. Provide sheet metal flashings, clad metal, termination bars, etc. in accordance with Section 076200. <br /> <br />S. Polyethylene Foam Rod: Compressible rod of non-absorptive, closed cell material, size as required to <br />provide a snug fit and/or as recommended by the system manufacturer for the specific use. <br /> <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 INSPECTION AND SURFACE PREPARATION <br /> <br />A. Where insulation and coverboard will be secured to the deck with fasteners and plates, perform pull <br />tests prior to the beginning of roof removal to test the suitability of the planned fasteners with the <br />existing roof deck(s). Perform a minimum of 5 tests in the field and 5 within 18″ of the perimeter <br />of each contiguous roof section unless otherwise recommended by the manufacturer. Tests must <br />be performed in the presence of Designer, Owner’s Representative, or by an independent fastener <br />manufacturer’s representative. Test results shall be provided to the Designer prior to beginning <br />installation of the insulation system and may allow for a reduction in the specified fastening spacing <br />and patterns. <br /> <br />B. Remove the existing roof system membrane, insulation, flashings and other items necessary for <br />installation of the new roof system and dispose of off-site in accordance with Section 024110 of <br />these specifications. Remove only portions of the existing roofing system that can be covered with <br />the new roofing materials during the same day.
