<br />075400.1 – THERMOPLASTIC SINGLE-PLY ROOF SYSTEM <br /> <br />Project Manual for Whitted Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />May 2022 <br /> <br />SECTION 075400 <br /> <br />THERMOPLASTIC MEMBRANE ROOFING <br /> <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 WORK INCLUDED <br /> <br />A. Provide labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to install a new thermoplastic single- <br />ply roof membrane system, flashings, and accessories following and accessories following removal <br />and disposal of the existing roof materials. <br /> <br />B. Install new fully-adhered, heat-welded thermoplastic roof system with flat/tapered insulation, cover <br />board, membrane, base flashings, membrane-clad metal, and other associated components as <br />required for proper installation of the overall system in accordance with these specifications and <br />the roof system manufacturer’s installation instructions. <br /> <br />C. Provide and install coping, sheetmetal flashings, counterflashings, other sheetmetal trim, and <br />accessories in accordance with Section 076200. <br /> <br />D. Provide and install other accessory or incidental components, or modify other roof features/items, <br />not specifically listed or shown on drawings, but required for the complete and proper installation <br />of the new roof system. <br /> <br />E. The new roof system shall be watertight, must meet the requirements for UL Class A fire <br />classifications, and shall meet the requirements for wind uplift as specified herein and in accordance <br />with the North Carolina State Building Code and ASCE-7. The overall quality of roof system <br />installation shall be sufficient to obtain the manufacturer’s specified warranty, meet recognized <br />industry standards, and shall not include distresses or damages that may prevent the membrane and <br />flashings to continue to perform in a watertight condition, with reasonable maintenance, over the <br />20-year manufacturer’s warranty period. <br /> <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />A. Obtain roof membrane, insulation, flashings and accessories, from a single manufacturer with not less <br />than 10 years of successful experience in manufacture of a thermoplastic membrane meeting the <br />specified requirements and without significant change to the chemical formulation. Provide other <br />system components such as adhesives, fasteners, termination bars, pipe boots, and membrane-coated <br />metal flashings, only as approved by manufacturer of primary membrane materials for the warranted <br />system. <br />B. Contractor shall be an approved/authorized applicator of the manufacturer for installation of the <br />product to be installed. Approved status must be in-place prior to the bid date. Certification of the <br />contractor’s status, or the status of a designated subcontractor, with the manufacturer may be requested <br />for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating bids and failure to provide requested documentation may <br />result in disqualification of bid. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 89558C18-938A-4BFF-B14A-A2214E8AA5DD
