<br />061140.1 – ROUGH CARPENTRY <br /> <br /> <br />Project Manual for Whitted Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />May 2022 <br /> <br />SECTION 061140 <br /> <br />ROUGH CARPENTRY <br /> <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 WORK INCLUDED <br /> <br />A. Provide labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the following work: <br /> <br />1. Install new wood blocking on top of the parapet wall, along gutter, edge metal, and where <br />shown on the drawings and install plywood on the parapet wall at the locations shown on <br />the detail drawings. <br />2. Wood framing modifications for hatch and ladder installation. Refer to section 077200. <br /> <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />A. Contractor shall provide sufficient qualified workmen and supervisors who shall be present at all times <br />during execution of this portion of the work and who shall be familiar with the type of construction <br />involved and the materials and techniques specified. <br /> <br /> B. The Owner shall make no allowance for lack of skill of the workmen. <br /> <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Submit product data and SDS for each product listed in this specification section and others <br />required by the roof membrane manufacturer for a complete installation of the work. <br /> <br />B. Submit product data for each fastener type to be used in the securement of the blocking to roof <br />deck, steel, or masonry, or other blocking, along with a physical sample of each fastener type (if <br />requested). Clearly mark product data sheets to confirm fastener type, length, and location of <br />intended use. The Contractor may re-submit additional fastener types and data if any change to the <br />fasteners to be used occurs. <br /> <br />1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br /> <br />A. Deliver roofing materials, insulation, and accessories in manufacturer’s original protective <br />containers with labels intact and legible. Comply with manufacturer’s published instructions for <br />storage and handling. <br /> <br />B. Store materials in dry protected areas, on clean, raised platforms with securely anchored weather <br />protective coverings in accordance with Section 016000. <br /> <br />C. Store flammable products away from sparks or open flames. <br /> <br />D.
