<br /> 024110.2 – SELECTIVE DEMOLITION <br /> <br />Project Manual for Whitted Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />May 2022 <br />1.02 PRE-JOB DAMAGE SURVEY <br /> <br />A. Contractor shall perform a pre-job damage survey of the rooftop equipment and features, building <br />exterior, site, pavements, and building interior to document existing damaged conditions prior to <br />beginning work. <br /> <br />B. Contractor shall submit required documentation, including either video footage of the survey and/or <br />photographs and sketches, as necessary to adequately describe the location of existing conditions <br />and defects and to verify the date of the survey. <br /> <br />C. The Owner and/or Engineer will not review and approve items documented in the Contractor’s pre- <br />job damage survey unless specifically requested by the Contractor. <br /> <br />D. The Contractor shall be responsible for repair or replacement of materials that are damaged during <br />construction activities and are not documented to have been existing prior to beginning the work. <br />Items/materials that are damaged shall be returned to their original condition prior to construction <br />activities. If return to original condition is not possible/practical, Contractor shall replace <br />item/material with new as approved by the Engineer and the Owner. <br /> <br />1.03 PROTECTION <br /> <br />A. Limit size of work sections to safeguard adjacent materials, structures, etc. and to minimize dust, <br />noise, and water damage. <br /> <br />B. Protect existing site and facilities from damage during work. Do not overload existing paving, <br />curbs, sidewalks, etc. with vehicle traffic. Do not overload new or existing construction with <br />demolition debris, equipment, etc. <br /> <br />C. Material and debris shall be transported to and from the roof by crane, hoist, or forklift. The <br />equipment shall be operated by a certified operator. <br /> <br />D. Damage shall be repaired at the Contractor's expense. <br /> <br />E. Contractor shall furnish necessary temporary protection from weather at all areas of demolition to <br />protect interior of building from elements of weather at all times. Install specified roof system(s) <br />and tie in to existing roof system as needed to make roof watertight daily. <br /> <br />F. Debris will not be allowed to accumulate on the roof or on-site. Debris shall be removed from the <br />roof daily. <br /> <br />G. The Contractor shall not load more materials on the roof than can be installed that day, unless <br />otherwise approved by the Owner or Owner’s represented.
