Maintain quality control over suppliers, manufacturers, products, services, site conditions, and <br />workmanship, to produce Work of specified quality. <br /> <br />1.02 CONTRACTOR WORKMANSHIP <br /> <br />A. The Installers of the single-ply roof system must be approved/certified applicators of the manufacturer <br />systems/products to be installed. The certification/approval must be provided by the manufacturer and <br />must be based on installation training, contractor experience with the system, and installation <br />performance and technical observation, not solely on sales ranking. Approval/certifications must have <br />been in place prior to the bid date. The prime contract shall either be approved themselves, or shall <br />use approved subcontractors to perform the work on this project and shall list them on the Form of <br />Proposal. Certification/approval may be requested for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating bids <br />and failure to provide requested documentation may result in disqualification of bid. <br /> <br />B. The bidding contractor shall have been in business a minimum of two (2) years prior to the date of bid <br />and must have (or utilize a subcontractor who has) a minimum of 5-year’s prior experience with <br />installation of the specified roof system(s) on commercial or public buildings. Upon request, <br />Contractor must be able to provide documentation of age of business, and of completed projects of the <br />same system (with similar size and scope). This documentation may be requested for the purpose of <br />reviewing and evaluating bids and failure to provide requested documentation may result in <br />disqualification of bid. <br /> <br />C. Roof system including membrane, insulation, clad metal, copper, sheetmetal, and accessory <br />components shall be installed in a watertight condition and with an overall quality of system <br />installation that will allow the membrane and flashings to continue to perform in a watertight <br />condition, with reasonable maintenance, over the system manufacturer warranty period. Work must <br />be performed by persons qualified to produce workmanship of the above quality. Project Manager <br />and Project Superintendent must have specific experience with the system(s) to be installed and on <br />projects of similar size and complexity. <br /> <br />D. Contractor must maintain the same Project Manager and Superintendent throughout the project <br />duration unless a change is reviewed by and agreed upon by the Owner. The Contractor must replace <br />the Project Manager or Superintendent if specifically requested by the Owner due to concerns with <br />quality of workmanship or inattentiveness to the requirements of the project.
