<br />010100.8 –SUMMARY OF WORK <br /> <br />Project Manual for Whitted Building Roof Replacement <br />Orange County, Hillsborough, NC <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering, Inc., 551-A Pylon Drive – Raleigh, NC 27606 <br />May 2022 <br />1.04 CONTRACT TIME AND SCHEDULING <br /> <br />A. The contract time from the Notice to Proceed to project acceptance for Base Bid work is 90 days. <br />The Notice to Proceed date is anticipated to be set as early as possible following execution of <br />construction contracts. <br /> <br />1.05 BASE BID <br /> <br />A. The Base Bid includes the following scope of work shown on the drawings and specified in the <br />Project Manual: Replacement of the existing roof systems on Roof Areas A, B, C, D, E, and F as <br />designated on the Project Drawings. <br /> <br />B. The Base Bid shall also include the estimated quantities of work specified in Section 012100 of <br />this Project Manual. <br /> <br />1.06 BID ALTERNATES <br /> <br />A. Bid Alternate 1: Replace the passive vents on Roof Area B where shown on the design drawings. <br /> <br />B. Bid Alternate 2: Replace the copper chimney caps on Roof Areas A and B. <br /> <br />C. Bid Alternate 3: Mechanically fastened the coverboard, insulation, and thermal barrier on Roof <br />Areas A and B. <br /> <br />1.07 REFERENCE STANDARDS <br /> <br />A. For products specified by association or trade standards, comply with the requirements of the latest <br />standard, except when more rigid requirements are specified or required by applicable codes. <br /> <br />B. Install items necessary to ensure compliance with the most recent adopted edition of the North <br />Carolina Building Code whether or not shown on project drawings or specifically indicated in the <br />technical specifications. <br /> <br />1.08 DESIGNER’S SITE VISITS <br /> <br />A. Designer or site representative will perform periodic visits to the site to observe Contractor <br />activities and note non-conformance with the specifications to the Owner and Contractor. Non- <br />conformance items must be corrected by the Contractor prior to approval of payment. <br /> <br />B. Contractor shall cooperate with the representatives and personnel of the Designer to provide safe <br />means and facilities for the Designer to observe all parts of the work for the purpose of determining <br />conformance/non-conformance with the specifications. <br /> <br />C. Contractor must notify the Designer a minimum of 48 hours prior to specific activities for which <br />the Designer wishes to be present. The applicable activities will be defined by the Designer during <br />the Pre-Construction Meeting, but are anticipated to include first day of removal and replacement <br />on main roof areas or installation of specific details.
