P a g e 17 o f 2 3
as a result of your project?
Please consider the expected
lifetime of the
technology/program/impact
etc.
weather and is meant to last the lifetime of the building.

The design of the new ArtsCenter allows for natural light to be a
major source of illumination for the building. However,
depending on the time of day, artificial lights will sometimes be
necessary. Because of their life span, our project proposes LED
light fixtures. On average, LED light fixtures are expected to last
up to 25 years. With this proposal, the light controls will ensure
that the lights are only on when natural light is not sufficient.
Therefore, the emissions reduction should take place for at least
25 years.

The predicted life expectancy of this type of EV charging station
20-25 years. The life expectancy of the E-Bike charging station
would also be 20-25 years. The bike racks should last the life of
the building.

These automatic roller shades are expected to last 15-20 years at
a minimum although the contractor felt sure that the shades
would last the lifespan of the building.

22. Please describe the location of
the emissions reduction. Where
would fossil fuels have been
burned if not for your project?
For projects creating electricity
usage reductions, it can be
difficult to determine the
location of the power
produced. Please feel free to
state “Grid-tied electricity
reduction”
This project will create significant reductions in energy use and is
therefore “grid-tied electricity reduction”.
23. Please describe any other
aspect of your project that is
relevant to the amount of
emissions that it will reduce or
avoid.
For the past four decades, The ArtsCenter has made its home in a
re-purposed Piggly Wiggly. This space has been dependent on
incandescent lightbulb and other historic ways of lighting a space.
With the new building, TAC has the opportunity to migrate from
the incandescent light bulb to LED lighting. According to
climategroup.org, LED lighting achieves energy savings of 50-70%
compared to old technologies. Consequently, our new home will
significantly reduce our carbon footprint.

By installing Solarban 70 glazing, TAC will be able to install a
smaller HVAC system thus decreasing the buildings overall carbon
footprint.

DocuSign Envelope ID: FC54AC26-7897-4270-8EA1-D754CD59EA76
