This is a unique opportunity.
☒ Unknown (please describe):
This project is a unique opportunity for Orange County to support
The ArtsCenter’s building project and to ensure that green
initiatives are incorporated. The baseline design and the
orientation of the building are already environmentally friendly.

However, if the county awards The ArtsCenter funding for the
higher level of window glazing, the energy savings could increase
dramatically.

The projects to install LED lighting, bike racks and charging
stations, and automatic roller shades could be delayed, and other
funding could be sought in the future. However, installing these
types of improvements makes more sense during construction to
avoid the cost and waste installing a whole new system. By acting
now, the maximum benefit to the environment could be realized.

If needed, the light controls could, however, be installed at a later
date without significant waste and the Bike Racks, and Electric
Bike and Electric Vehicle Charging Station may be able to be
installed with other capital or operational funds.

As a non-profit, TAC perpetually seeks support not only for
programming but also for infrastructure improvements.

While The ArtsCenter is in the middle of a capital campaign to
raise funds for the entire project, no assurance can be made that
the funds raised will be enough to cover these desired upgrades.
Unfortunately, since 2020, the cost of construction has shot up
dramatically and as the budget is re- evaluated, the green
initiatives might fall victim to cuts.
DocuSign Envelope ID: FC54AC26-7897-4270-8EA1-D754CD59EA76
